Red Alert! in Hindi

Red Alert! in Hindi

Professor Jeffrey Lang who kindly helped me discover the story of the lumpy nosed crocodiles or gharials featured in my book Red Alert! 15 animals fighting to survive shared these lovely images. Children reading the book live in the National Chambal Sanctuary in river communities close to rivers where the gharials live.

Gharials are one of the ‘15 endangered animals fighting to survive’ chosen (after much discussion…) for the book, based on the IUCN Red List. Professor Lang, (University of Dakota, USA) is working with the Gharial Ecology Project alongside rural communities in India to study and protect this endangered species. He arranged for pages of our book to be translated into Hindi and they are now being shared in local schools to raise awareness of the threats to gharials and other local endangered species.
